ACCOMPLISHMENTS
-
In conjunction with PMA and their graphic artist, developed a standardized brand, tagline, cover design, and photographs for the annual conference booklet that expresses “what we aim to provide for conference attendees”
-
Collaborated with Professional Development Committee and Membership Committee on pre-conference courses and conference fee structures in order to maintain our “break-even” budget philosophy
-
2011 Pre-Conference Courses will include Ombuds 101, Ombuds 101 Plus, two full-day courses, and three half-day courses
-
Coordinated with CO-OP Board on scheduling Certification Exam testing during the Conference, as well as recruited and coordinated “designated verifiers” for continuing education hours for Certified ombuds

Coordinated with IOA Board for the scheduling of the Board meeting/dinner at the conference, as well as the Annual Business Meeting and Q&A session with the Board

Coordinated with Mentoring Task Force to schedule a mentoring lunch and “Mentoring 101” breakfast session

Issued a Call for Presentations and Proposals that yielded nearly 70 proposals for the 2011 conference
-
Planned for and completed conference programming for three full-days of Conference

Conference programs will include three keynote addresses, six plenary meetings, and nearly 40 concurrent sessions, which encompass international and multiple sector subjects

Our Local Arrangements subcommittee (Sandy, Carol, Valerie) organized an Opening Night Welcome Reception, including speaker gifts, off-site activities, guest speakers, attendee gifts and coupon gifts, and book sellers

With PMA, offered a room-sharing program again for conference attendees

With PMA, continuously publicized the conference throughout the year

Recruited and coordinated moderators/facilitators for every Conference session and event

It was decided that the 2012 conference will be held in Houston, TX, at the Hyatt Regency from April 13 - 19, 2012
-
It was also decided that the 2013 conference will be held in Miami, FL. We will be making a final decision on a hotel and date in the early part of 2011.
