About the Course
This interactive session equips ombuds with practical frameworks and strategies to help stakeholders address trust breakdowns and repair relationships in both individual and systemic contexts. Using a blend of trust theory, communication models, and facilitation tools, participants will learn how to recognize signs of ruptures, guide parties toward meaningful repair, and foster sustainable trust-building practices. The content is tailored to the unique, neutral role of the ombuds, emphasizing approaches that maintain impartiality while encouraging accountability, openness, and collaboration.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this webinar, participants will learn:
- Recognize and Assess Trust Dynamics – Identify the root causes and common indicators of trust ruptures in organizational systems and interpersonal relationships, using neutral and culturally responsive language.
- Facilitate Trust Repair Conversations – Apply structured techniques, such as the Ladder of Inference and healthy apology frameworks, to guide stakeholders toward accountability, mutual understanding, and agreed-upon trust-building commitments.
- Support Sustainable Trust Rebuilding – Use the Cycles of Trust model to help individuals and teams navigate the rebuilding process, from initial repair to long-term maintenance or transformation.
