Different Ways to Learn Online

  • Visit the IOA Online Learning Center: This platform will become your central hub for all IOA webinars, Virtual Foundations Courses, Community Connections recordings, and other recorded and live online training. Use your existing IOA Profile to log in, track your progress, and obtain PDH credits. IOA members are granted complimentary access to all content in the IOA Online Learning Center as a benefit of membership. Non-members have the opportunity to register for live webinars and purchase archived content.

  • IOA's Live Webinars: Members can register for live webinars for free. Non-members can register for live webinars for $195.00 USD.

  • IOA's Virtual Foundations of Organizational Ombuds Practice Course: The Foundations course is the most in-demand course offered by IOA. In late 2020, we began developing an online version of the course hosted on our online platform, the IOA Learning Center.

Online Learning Policies

Webinar Cancellation Policy: 
I understand that notices of cancellation must be submitted in writing via email to [email protected]. Cancellations made five business days prior to the date of the live webinar will receive a refund of the purchased price of the individual webinar minus a $25.00 administrative fee. Cancellations made less than five business days prior to the course will not receive a refund. If you cancel for a live webinar and want the recording no refund will be given.

Foundations Cancellation Policy: 
Notification of cancellation must be submitted in writing via email to [email protected]. Cancellations received four or more weeks in advance of the course will be refunded, less a $75 USD cancellation fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received less than four weeks before the course. Substitutions can be made at any time up to four weeks before the course, as long as both attendees are of the same registration type. Foundations Nonpayment Policy:
Full payment of course registration fees is required before the start of the course. If full payment has not been remitted by the date specified during registration, the registration will be canceled and the spot will be released to the next registrant on the waiting list. Technical Failure Policy:
I understand that if there is a technical failure at the attendee's home or workplace prevents access to the live webinar, the attendee will not be given a refund. It is the responsibility of the attendee to confirm system requirements and test their computers prior to the start of the webinar. If a technical failure is the fault of the service provider and the webinar is canceled, a full refund will be provided.

Recording Acknowledgement:
Each virtual session may be recorded, including chat transcripts. Video recorded during the event will be provided to all registrants, and may be used for promotional purposes, advertising, and other print and online materials at the sole discretion of IOA. You must consent to this if you plan to attend the live sessions. If you do not wish to be recorded for the above-stated purposes, you may view the recording, which will be provided after the conclusion of the course. 

Participant Agreement:
IOA events are community events intended for education, networking, and collaboration. We value the participation of everyone and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Accordingly, all attendees are expected to show respect and courtesy to other attendees throughout all events hosted in the IOA space. To make clear what is expected, all attendees, speakers, exhibitors, organizers, and volunteers at any virtual event are required to conform to the following Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. In registering for and/or participating in IOA Virtual Foundations of Organizational Ombudsman Course you consent to comply with the Code of Conduct.

We agree to use language and behaviors that contribute to a positive environment, including:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
  • Focusing on what is best for everyone at the event
  • Showing empathy towards other participants


We agree to avoid the following:

  • Spam (verbally or in chats), including saying or reposting the same word/content repeatedly in order to disrupt the conversation
  • Harassment, bullying, and intimidation, defined as:
    • Negative comments about race/ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, physical appearance, citizenship, or other protected categories
    • Intimidation or threats, including sharing images or text especially to threaten
    • Unwelcome sexual attention, including sharing images or text especially to sexually harass
    • Threatening or other endangerment of minors
    • Any activity meant to convey or cultivate hostility
    • Ad hominem insults or other attacks
    • Encouraging the above behavior
